The Gigabyte MZ73-LM0 (Rev. 3.x) is a high-density server motherboard engineered for the most demanding AMD EPYC 9005 “Turin” and 9004 “Genoa” workloads. Utilizing an extended Deep E-ATX form factor (304.8 x 335.2 mm), this platform maximizes PCB real estate to deliver a no-compromise feature set: dual-socket compute power, massive memory bandwidth, and enterprise-grade 10-Gigabit networking integrated directly on board.
Extreme Compute and Memory Density
Designed for scalable performance, the board supports two processors with a cTDP of up to 400W. It fully activates the memory potential of the SP5 architecture with 24 DIMM slots (12 per CPU). This allows for a symmetrical 12-channel configuration per socket, supporting DDR5 ECC RDIMM/3DS RDIMM memory. With validated speeds of up to 6400 MT/s (on EPYC 9005), it provides the low-latency throughput essential for AI training and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.
Native 10-Gigabit Connectivity
A key advantage of the MZ73-LM0 is its built-in networking capability. Anchored by the Broadcom BCM57416 controller, the board provides dual 10GBase-T (10GbE) ports natively. This allows data centers to deploy high-speed uplinks immediately without consuming PCIe slots for add-on network cards, simplifying deployment and improving airflow.
PCIe 5.0 Expansion & Optimized Storage
The platform balances next-generation expansion with flexible storage options:
- Gen5 Expansion: Four PCIe Gen5 x16 slots offer massive bandwidth for accelerators, GPUs, or 400GbE interconnects.
- MCIO Storage Architecture: The board utilizes two MCIO 8i connectors (connected to CPU_1). These flexible ports can be configured to drive 4x Gen5 NVMe SSDs for high-speed caching or up to 16x SATA drives for bulk data storage.
- Additional I/O: A dedicated SlimSAS 4i connector provides 4 additional SATA ports, while a M.2 slot (PCIe Gen4 x4) ensures fast operating system booting.
Enterprise Management and Form Factor
Remote administration is handled by the ASPEED AST2600 BMC, enabling secure IPMI 2.0 access and KVM-over-LAN via a dedicated management port.
Note: Due to the 335.2 mm depth, this “Deep E-ATX” board requires a compatible chassis capable of accepting extended-depth motherboards.
