This model provides 8 cores / 16 threads with a 3.7 GHz base clock and up to 4.1 GHz max boost, pairing high sustained frequency with a server-grade platform. This frequency-first design is well suited to latency-sensitive request paths, database and cache tiers that are constrained by single-thread execution or contention, and licensing models where fewer, faster cores are advantageous.
EPYC 72F3 includes 256 MB of L3 cache, which can reduce memory traffic for working sets that remain cache-resident and improve latency consistency. The EPYC 7003 series supports DDR4-3200 with up to eight memory channels per socket. For best results, populate memory symmetrically and size capacity to match your workload’s locality and cache behavior.
