The Intel Xeon Gold 5412U is a single-socket optimized processor from the 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable “Sapphire Rapids” family, designed for modern DDR5 servers, high-bandwidth storage nodes and cloud-native workloads that rely on predictable performance scaling. With 24 cores, 48 threads, a 2.1 GHz base frequency and turbo speeds up to 3.9 GHz, the 5412U delivers a major architectural step forward compared to previous Ice Lake and Cascade Lake generations.
The “U” designation indicates that the Xeon Gold 5412U is built specifically for 1-socket platforms. This simplifies NUMA topology, reduces licensing costs in per-socket licensing models and provides a clean scaling model for modern infrastructures. In many real deployments, a single 24-core Sapphire Rapids node can outperform older dual-socket Xeon configurations because of higher IPC, DDR5 throughput and PCIe 5.0 bandwidth.
