The Intel Xeon Silver 4310T is a 10-core, 20-thread Ice Lake server CPU designed for scenarios where predictable performance per watt and memory bandwidth are more important than extreme core counts. It targets compact dual-socket servers, branch-office infrastructure and mid-sized virtualization clusters, where consolidation, stability and total cost of ownership play a central role.
Compared to the previous Cascade Lake generation, the 4310T benefits from the Ice Lake-SP platform and Sunny Cove cores. That means higher IPC, improved branch prediction and a more efficient memory subsystem. In practice, workloads such as virtualized business applications, light to medium SQL/NoSQL databases, web backends and application servers see a tangible uplift at the same or even lower power envelope. With a base frequency of 2.3 GHz and turbo up to 3.4 GHz, the CPU avoids aggressive throttling in realistic datacenter conditions, which is critical for consistent API latency and user-facing services.
One of the key strengths of the Xeon Silver 4310T is its memory configuration. It supports eight channels of DDR4 memory and up to 6 TB per socket on compatible platforms. That makes the processor suitable for scenarios where the working set lives mostly in RAM: in-memory caching layers, reporting databases, BI tools or microservice architectures with many containers sharing the same node. Even though this is a Silver SKU, the memory subsystem is identical in topology to higher Gold models, so you are not forced to trade memory bandwidth for budget constraints.

From a planning perspective, this CPU is suitable for organizations that want to standardize on the Ice Lake ecosystem, use PCIe 4.0 storage and networking, but do not yet need 24–32 cores per socket.
